Monday: Master Bedroom Musings

Is it just me or does everyone else have a hard time getting anything done in their own bedroom? In the 5 years that the hubby and I have been married we have never, ever spent any of our time, money, or energy on the master bedroom. It's been said that you should invest a little something in to that room. It is your haven, the place you go to get away, and it is your space. To be honest I've always thought, "I can shut my bedroom door, but people see my den, dining room, entry way, etc..". It's never made the top of the list and probably won't for awhile. Especially since, as I'm typing this, I've already got plans for the toddler's room (that's already been done once), and will get another make over before the master gets touched. With all that being said I've allowed myself to spend a little time getting some inspiration together for what I might want our bedroom to look like. Here are some of the images that I'm drawn to. Let me know what you think!

I've had this bedroom pinned for quite some time. I'm a huge fan of using small dressers as bedside tables. That, the pops of color and mix of pattern are definitely inspiring my choices.

Another bedside situation that I'm taking some cues from.

One decision we have made is we either want a canopy style like one of these...

...or a 4 poster bed similar to this.

The room above happens to be the hubby's favorite.

And a few other things I want to incorporate...

Texture. This Amber Interiors room knocks it out of the park.

And a fun monogram.

And of course, in true designer fashion,  there are a million other things I love equally. Making a decision for myself… we shall see.

Our home: The Study

We moved to the Charlotte area just over 2 years ago. With that move we also became first time home buyers (eek!)! Slowly but surely we are putting our stamp on our little ranch here in the suburbs of Charlotte. Today I'm showing you my husbands study. Being on staff at a church full time, completing a doctoral program (yes I'm bragging), and also being a incredible lover of books, he needs this space. While designing it, I tried my best to consider him in every decision and make this a place he can come to work or relax. It's not completed but I'll show you some highlights. Check back for a reveal of his desk area.

Hello!

Welcome to my little corner of this huge world! Through this blog I hope to share ideas, inspire creativity, and showcase some of my projects. Being a follower of Christ first, a wife to an amazing man, mommy to a precious little boy and also an interior designer I thought this blog would be a great place to give you a little peak in to my life! I also offer my design services to those of you in my current city (or close to) Charlotte, NC. I hope to (very soon) start doing some e-designs as well! Check back over the next few days for my first design post!

xoxo,
Ashley
